Effective June 15, Yolo County will allow businesses to reopen and activities to resume in alignment with the retirement of the State of California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. The statewide transition to Beyond the Blueprint eliminates the color-coded tier system for counties. Moving to Beyond the Blueprint will allow Yolo County to fully eliminate capacity limits and remove local restrictions on business operations as well as eliminate masking requirements for fully vaccinated residents in most settings. However, masking will still be required for all residents in certain settings as outlined below.   

Starting June 15, the following restrictions apply:

• Capacity limitations: No restrictions.
• Physical distancing: No restrictions for attendees, customers and guests. Workers on the job must maintain physical distancing and schools should keep student desks at least 3 feet apart.
• Masking: Individuals who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear a mask in most settings. Unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks in indoor public settings, including businesses. All residents must continue to wear masks on public transit and in the workplace, medical facilities, K-12 schools, correctional facilities and shelters, regardless of their vaccination status.
• Employers/workplaces: Masks and physical distancing requirements have been relaxed by Cal/OSHA.
• Travelers: Follow CDC recommendations.

Proof of full vaccination or of a recent negative COVID-19 test is required for persons attending indoor mega events (consisting of 5,000 or more attendees) and is recommended for those attending outdoor mega events (consisting of 10,000 or more attendees).

“With our local case rate very low and the majority of Yolo County residents vaccinated, now is an appropriate time to loosen COVID-19 restrictions, says Dr. Aimee Sisson, Yolo County’s Public Health Officer. However, Sisson continues to urge the unvaccinated to exercise caution. “While the Blueprint framework is ending today, the pandemic is not. The virus that causes COVID-19 continues to circulate in Yolo County. Those who are not yet vaccinated remain at risk of infection and should continue to protect themselves and others from COVID-19 by wearing masks indoors.”

In settings where masks are required only for unvaccinated individuals, businesses, venue operators or hosts may choose to:

• Provide information to all patrons, guests and attendees regarding vaccination requirements and allow vaccinated individuals to self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry,
• implement vaccine verification to determine whether individuals are required to wear a mask, or
• require all patrons to wear masks.
